STEMify your Instruction
Have you ever asked, “What am I supposed to do with 5 computers in my classroom?” or “How can I make use of all the smart phones students bring to class?” Have you wished you had some new strategies when you have heard a student say, “I’m not good at math?” Do you have difficulties deciding on what science teaching strategies are best to prep students for the Science test of the TASC? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this institute is for you!
Our science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) institute is designed as a four part series covering aspects of science, technology, and math in adult education. The sessions of the institute will build on one another and participants will benefit most by taking all four sessions (receiving a STEM digital badge!). But it is possible to attend just the sessions you wish to attend. In either case you must register for each session separately.
Session 4: Build your Own Classroom Website
How do your students interact with your materials and content outside of the classroom? Can they access your content on their phones and tablets? In this session you will learn how to create your own easy but elegant free website that can act as a repository for all the materials and content you want to share with your students so they can access it inside and outside the classroom. We will also review ways to integrate technology into the lessons you already teach.
Audience: ABE, Pre-HSE and HSE Instrcutors
Presenter: Nell Eckersley
